A Quick Update

If you have filled in your BackerKit survey information, you should have already received your Darkness Surges PDF links. If you haven't please message me and we'll track them down.
For the printed versions, I'm still awaiting proofs. I had hoped to have books shipping in August (2 months ahead of schedule), but it looks like it will be September (1 month ahead of schedule).
I live in Houston, which is a complete flooded mess right now. We left town last week and are fine and last we heard, our house is still above water. Roll some natural 20s for us that it stays that way!
Finally, one more plug for our Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/fantasticreality. The first adventure "Horror at Thistletown" is almost ready to go. It's kind of a fun little "Halflings meet From Dusk til Dawn" 5e adventure mashup.
Darkness Surges is Complete!

I'm thrilled to announce that the Darkness Surges PDF is now complete!
The whole team worked hard to get this done, and I'm happy to report that we're two months ahead of schedule. You'll start seeing the PDF digital download appear in your BackerKit accounts today and you'll be receiving a copy via DriveThruRPG by the end of the week.
The next step is start work on the print edition and get the proofs back from that. I'm expecting that process to take three or four weeks, so physical books should start shipping to you all in August.
We've got some exciting things going on internally, and I'm hoping to announce our next Kickstarter project shortly - probably in August. An, of course, work on Asatania continues and we'll be announcing the third story arc on that in the near future as well.
For those of you who like our brand of sophisticated adventures, we're also doing a series of shorter, campaign neutral, adventures on Patreon. You can check that out at https://www.patreon.com/fantasticreality

Darkness Surges Update
The 4th of July weekend is upon us in the United States, and most of us will be enjoying a long weekend of barbecues and picnics. Before I start lighting my grill and throwing the Frisbee around, I wanted to get an update out.
Progress on Darkness Surges is going well. We're editing the final draft of the book now, which we should finish up before the weekend starts. We're waiting on one last piece of art and a couple of maps, and then we'll be off to layout.
I left a bunch of extra time in the schedule to deal with "stuff goes wrong" and so far we haven't needed it. I feel like we're likely to deliver the PDF and books early. I'll keep you updated as we go.
Patreon Announcement
Writers always have miscellaneous side projects they're working on. Things that don't fit nicely into their other projects. I'm no exception - I've got a bunch of adventure projects sketched, or outlined, or even mostly written that don't fit into Asatania or other Kickstarter-type projects.
I'd like to finish these adventures so that everyone can enjoy them. If there's enough interest via Patreon, I'll do just that.
They are little adventures that can be dropped into whatever campaigns you're running and take up a session, or two, or even three. Stories that don't fit into the Asatania mythos nor into Fantastic Reality's Super Secret Unannounced New Project(tm) - but that I'd still love to do.
The first is a little adventure I ran for some friends a couple of years ago. It has a sort of From Dawn til Dusk vibe to it. And halflings. Halflings acting badly. Really badly.
If the occasional fun, sometimes quirky, adventure appeals to you, please support us on Patreon.
(Also, check out our new "Fantastic Reality" logo. Pretty cool!)
BackerKit
Most of you have filled out your BackerKit surveys, but I'm still missing a few. My completionist's eye twitches seeing surveys unanswered. It takes a few seconds to fill them out - especially if there are no changes.
In any event, I'm going to be locking down the BackerKit responses on July 5th. You'll still be able to update your shipping address for physical rewards, but won't be able to upgrade your pledges or modify your add-ons after that.
BackerKit surveys are coming soon!

BackerKit Surveys
We will send an email with a special link to BackerKit surveys soon. BackerKit is going through our project to make sure everything is set up properly. Once we receive the go-ahead from them, we'll start emailing your survey links out.
It is important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information for fulfilling your rewards.
You do not need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey, just click on the survey link, fill it out, and you’re all good to go! You will be able to answer questions about your rewards preferences, provide shipping information, and pledge for more “add-ons” if you'd like. Many of you have expressed interest about hard cover or other add-ons. The survey is where you will select those options.
You do not have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!
If you decide later that you want to edit your survey response, you can go back to your survey and change it any time before we lock down the surveys for processing.
If you need to review your information or pledge status, you will be able to recover your survey here:
If you use your Facebook login for your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey will be sent to the email you used for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you would prefer to use, please contact support at http://darkness-surges.backerkit.com/faq and we'll get you sorted out!
Status Update
We're close to wrapping up the final draft of the Darkness Surges arc. The "to do" list is small enough now that I can keep it all in my head. I feel confident that we'll hit the September/October delivery dates promised and I hope to pull it in by a month or more.
Coming Soon: Darkness Surges!

Many thanks to the 119 backers who helped us raise nearly $5,400 to turn the second Asatania story arc into reality!
Over the next few weeks, a few things are going to happen, in the following order:
In roughly 14 days, we’re going to be sending out your BackerKit surveys, to ensure we have the right shipping address. You’ll be able to modify your pledge levels or pick up some of the cool add-ons and upgrades that will be available. (Hardcovers, maps, art prints!)
All “Catch Up” reward level backers will be sent a copy of the Asatania Crashing Chaos Complete Edition PDF via DriveThruRPG.
Once the PDF for Darkness Surges is complete, which we are projecting to be in September, we’ll send those out via DriveThruRPG.
Once the print layout for Darkness Surges is complete (October, we believe), we’ll give you a few days to update your shipping address in BackerKit and then we’ll send out all printed rewards together.
We’ll give you a heads-up, via an invitation email, before we send the BackerKit survey so that you can watch for it. You will not need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The email will contain a link to your personal survey. It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can since we need this information to process your rewards.
If you need to change your survey responses, add or remove add-ons, or update your shipping information, you can click on the link in your survey email again or request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page. (This page will only start working after we send the surveys out.)

P.S. I commissioned Tiziana Ruiu to develop artwork for the $3,500 stretch goal that we passed a few days ago. I’m also commissioning her to do the additional maps for the expanded Old #7 Mine (from the $5,000 stretch goal). We just got the details worked out, so I don’t have a sketch to show you yet. I’ll make sure they get into a future update.
